It makes early stage venture capital investments in and provides advice to technology-related entrepreneurs in the US. On 26th April 2005, MCNC Ventures restructed and re-branded to North Carolina Innovative Development for Economic Advancement (NC IDEA). The firm is a not-for-profit organisation which provides grants for companies within the IT, medical diagnostics and devices, material sciences and green technologies industries.
