Established in 1999 August, Heungkuk Asset Management is a South Korea-domiciled asset management firm based in Seoul. The firm is a member of Heungkuk Financial Group, which is the financial affiliate of Taekwang Group. Under its private equity arm, the firm raises private equity funds that mainly target South Korean opportunities but may also invest in offshore enterprises that are subsidiaries of South Korean firms. It provides senior debt and mezzanine financing in the domestic market and is open to sponsoring M&A deals and refinancing opportunities. It also offers a variety of investment products for its clients, including traditional investment funds and alternative investments such as private infrastructure funds. Under its hedge funds arm, the firm manages the Jaeryang series funds, with Jaeryang Fund 2 serving as the firm's flagship fund. The Jaeryang series funds adopt fixed income strategy and diversifies alpha sources by exploiting full opportunity set on credit sector, duration and yield curve. They invest in AAA-rated bonds in South Korea to ensure a high degree of creditworthiness and to prevent capital losses.
