108 Plexus Capital Ventures, founded in April 2011, primarily provided capital to India-based SMEs across all stages of venture development. The firm also made special situations investments opportunistically. It invested in a variety of sectors but had a bias towards the energy, infrastructure, consumption, food and agriculture industries. It sought to invest in portfolio companies which already have sound leaders, good products and services with a large defensible market potential but are underperforming due to lack of capital. 108 Plexus Capital Ventures was also the investment advisor to India-focused growth fund, Nine Rivers I, managed by private equity firm Nine Rivers Capital. 108 Plexus Capital Ventures merged with Cipher Capital Advisors to form Cipher-Plexus Capital Advisors, which focuses exclusively on providing investment banking services.
