About
Japan Private Equity (JPE) is a Tokyo-based private equity firm focusing on small-cap buyout investments in the domestic lower middle market. The firm seeks investment opportunities arising from management succession issues, business restructuring, as well as industry consolidation. It typically invests in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with enterprise value between JPY 1 to 5 billion, that are expected to grow steadily, generate stable cash flow and achieve successful exit in three to five years. JPE remains sector agnostic while focusing on the three business categories including 1) businesses with unique technologies and/or services, 2) businesses related to management, and 3) businesses with products and/or services that are customized to meet the specific demands of customers.
