JPEL Private Equity (JPEL) is a Guernsey registered and incorporated closed-ended investment company that trades on the London Stock Exchange. The company is designed primarily to invest in the global private equity market. JPEL held its initial public offering on 30 June 2005 under the name Bear Stearns Private Equity Limited. JPEL was previously managed by Bear Stearns Asset Management Inc. (BSAM Inc), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co and J.P. Morgan Asset Management (UK) Limited (JPMAM UK). Following the acquisition of Bear Stearns Companies Inc. by JPMorgan Chase & Co., the investment management team within BSAM Inc. that has managed the company since its inception joined J.P. Morgan Asset Management. In December 2015, JPMorgan Private Equity Limited span out from J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) to affiliate with Fortress Investment Group and is now managed by FCF JPEL Management LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fortress Investment Group.
