Genera Capital is the start-up venture funding arm of Genera Energy. Genera Capital was formed to implement the University of Tennessee’s Biofuels Initiative, a state investment in developing the biofuels industry in Tennessee. The firm provides an investment vehicle to leverage stage and federal funding with private research and development investments, as well as strategic partnerships, to further the research, economic development and clean energy objectives of Tennessee and The University of Tennessee. This firm is no longer active due to the University of Tennessee Research Foundation which underwent a reorganization. It was determined that Genera Capital, the Limited Partner, would be liquidated and that the raising of a Venture Fund would occur at the Research Foundation level either through a Contract or internally.
