The firm was founded by Joseph Michael who spent 12 years as Senior Investment Officer of the State Teachers' Retirement System of Ohio. In Q4 2008, Fort Washington acquired the fund of funds business of Peppertree Partners and there were to be no further Peppertree fund of funds vehicles raised.
