Disruptive Capital is a UK–based private equity firm whose genesis is the family office of Edmund and Danny Truell. DCF principally invests in established mid-market pan-European businesses that are facing “disruptive business models” with the objective of transforming those businesses by leveraging technology and other advances to drive growth to market leadership. In 2016, the firm transitioned from a deal by deal sponsor to accepting third party capital in commingled vehicles. Disruptive Capital was formed in 2008 by the Truell family for wealth preservation and wealth creation for both the family and the Truell Family Foundation, a foundation that benefits ecological preservation and the education of children of veterans of the Iraq-Afghan Wars. Since its formation, the firm has invested in a diversified portfolio of companies on a deal by deal basis as well as a number of fund managers.
