About
J-FUN is a Tokyo-based private equity firm specialized in small-cap buyout investments in the domestic market. The firm seeks to contribute to the revitalization of regional economies in Japan by investing in local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across various regions and supporting their growth and management succession leveraging their network and expertise. It focuses on companies with high growth potential and drives their growth and value-up through the roll-up strategy. It remains sector agnostic and invests across various industries. J-FUN is a joint venture between Nihon M&A Center (Nihon M&A) and Development Bank of Japan (DBJ). It combines the M&A knowledge and deal sourcing capability of Nihon M&A with the funding capacity and fund management expertise of DBJ. Its maiden fund, Japan Investment Fund I, raised capital from more than 10 regional banks across Japan, that collaborate with the fund in terms of deal sourcing and value-up execution.
