Aizawa Asset Management is an independent hedge fund manager based in Tokyo, Japan, with a focus on the Japanese public equity markets. The firm was originally established as the Japanese subsidiary of Tudor Investment Corporation, a major U.S. based hedge fund. Following a management buyout in July 2002, it was renamed Asuka Asset Management. In a later strategic move, Asuka merged with Akebono Asset Management, a private equity firm, and adopted the name Aizawa Asset Management. Today, the firm offers a range of hedge fund strategies, including long-short equity and multi-strategy approaches, targeting institutional investors.
