About
BlueOrchard is a Switzerland-based commercial microfinance investment manager that provides financial instruments and solutions for microfinance placements. Its investment philosophy is to generate profitable returns while supporting the development of promising small enterprises. The firm’s private equity arm acquires minority stakes in companies and plays an active governance role by contributing international experience, information, networks, and knowledge—often participating directly at the board level. BlueOrchard later separated its fixed-income and private equity activities. The fixed-income business became BlueOrchard Finance, while the private equity operations were spun off into Bamboo Finance, a Geneva-based firm that invests across diversified sectors globally. The infrastructure arm focuses on renewable energy, energy infrastructure and efficiency, sustainable transportation, and digital infrastructure.
