About
RBS Asset Management (RBS AM) was incorporated on 7 April 2004 and was authorised by the United Kingdom Financial Services Authority for the conduct of its designated investment business on 2 June 2004. Prior to this date, the team was located within Coutts & Co. another regulated Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc subsidiary. RBS AM was established to build on the work achieved at Coutts - as a result of the good track record, and the product manufacturing and the strength of the investment and support teams - with the aim of offering its products to institutional clients. In January 2010, RBS Asset Management sold its assets under management to Aberdeen Asset Management for GBP 84.7 million. The sale included the investment strategies (fund of funds) division of RBS Asset Management, which was established in 1998 and which stood at GBP 13.5 billion in Q3 2009.
