TNP Group is a venture capital firm based in Yokohama, Japan. It targets venture capital opportunities in Japan, focusing on research and development (R&D) driven startups primarily in the science and technology sectors. The firm provides hands-on support to its investee companies through its network of industry experts and professionals. TNP Group started as TSUNAMI (currently known as MINERVA), a venture support organization established by local private companies in Kanagawa prefecture in collaboration with the local government of Kanagawa. Its core company, TNP Partners engages in the management of MINERVA, its network building, and venture capital activities. In April 2005, the group established TNP On The Road (TOR), spinning off its venture capital business from TNP Partners. TOR raised capital from investors in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, to invest in Japanese businesses and support their foreign expansion in Asia.
