National Development Fund (NDF) is from the merger of Taiwan’s Development Fund and Sino-American Fund in order to integrate and more effectively utilize capital. The firm is fully state-owned and is overseen by Council for Economic Planning and Development, Taiwan’s state planning commission. NDF is established with the goal of applying national resources to enhance the innovative development of industry, spur overall economic growth, and pursue the five key economic effects of vitalizing the national economy, boosting domestic investment, increasing national income and job opportunities, enhancing the people’s quality of life, and promoting equitable income distribution. The firm supports domestic industrial upgrading, backing government implementation of various industrial policy programs, actively investing in the emergence and upgrading of industries for which private funding is hard to raise, and assisting the business development of financing and venture capital enterprises.
