Renvest was founded in 2005 to provide capital and advisory services to companies in the natural resource sector. Through Global Resource Fund, Renvest specializes in providing bridge and mezzanine financing to natural resource companies, including precious and base metal projects, the energy sector as well as certain non-traditional resources. In addition to the mining, oil and gas industries, Renvest will also consider lending opportunities in agriculture, forestry and alternative energy. The Global Resource Fund is not restricted by geographical location and so far has lent to projects in three continents. Renvest provides loans for terms of up to 24 months typically in the form of a senior secured debenture and often as a convertible debenture. The firm also make strategic equity investments in concert with a loan.
