About
VenCap Kentucky was created to increase access to seed, early and expansion stage capital for Kentucky businesses. The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development established the firm, and it is administered through the University of Louisville Foundation. VenCap Kentucky provides venture capital to entrepreneurs who already have a lead investor but require additional funding to allow the venture to proceed. VenCap Kentucky will match a portion of other investments in Kentucky-based companies to provide the needed capital. The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development closed the VenCap Kentucky funding program in November 2015.
