BancBoston Capital was the private equity group of FleetBoston Financial. The group comprised BancBoston Capital itself, BancBoston Ventures (the venture capital arm) and BancBoston Private Equity Portfolio (PEP) Funds (the alternative asset management arm). FleetBoston, and hence the BancBoston operations, was acquired by Bank of America in April 2004. Following this purchase, BancBoston ceased to raising any further private equity vehicles.
