In October 2010, Orkla Finans was purchased by Pareto. Pareto is an independent player on the Norwegian financial services market. The company operates in the fields of securities brokerage, financial advisory services, project financing, bank services, asset brokerage and asset management. The primary objective of the acquisition was to strengthen focus on asset management and project financing. Under the acquisition Pareto bought all the shares in Orkla Finans AS. Orkla Finans previously offered investment advice and products to private and institutional clients and specialised in alternative investments.
