About

Established in 1980, Candover Partners is an international private equity firm focusing on buyouts opportunities across Europe via offices in London, Paris and Madrid. Candover Investments is structured as an investment trust and was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1984. Investments in buyouts are provided in two forms, from Candover Investments and more significantly from third party funds raised and managed by Candover Partners, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Candover Investments. In February 2010, Candover Investments announced that it had reached an agreement with all Limited Partners and Candover Partners, its wholly-owned fund manager, to terminate the investment period of the Candover 2008 Fund (the 2008 Fund). The 2008 Fund's sole investment will be Expro, the oil and gas services group. On August 31st 2010, Candover announced that it would unwind its assets, abandon any new investments, and focus on returning money to its shareholders and investors. The realisation period for the firm's 2005 fund runs until 2015. On December 6th 2010, Candover Investments announced Candover Partners would spin-out to form Arle Capital Partners. This deal has been backed by Pantheon fund of funds and secondaries investor. Arle Capital Partners is led by John Arney and comprising the entire 25-strong Candover Partners team. The Candover 2001, 2005 and 2008 are managed by Arle Capital Partners.
