Riyada Ventures was a venture capital firm that exclusively focused on knowledge-based industries in the Arab world. The firm provided venture capital management and advisory services in the technology, media, communication, healthcare, education and entertainment industries in the Gulf, Levant and North Africa regions. It targeted cross-border opportunities in which its regional presence and expertise could create and add value to opportunities on behalf of clients in the US, Europe and Asia. The firm was acquired in late 2009 by Arbaaj Capital as part of a push by Abraaj into the small and medium enterprise space. This acquisition was aimed at stimulating and supporting entrepreneurial activity in the MENA region. Riyada Ventures is no longer active.
